Art nouveau was greatly influenced by Rococo and Japanese artists like Katsushika Hokusai. Some of the most recognizable names from the style include Aubrey Beardsley, Gustav Klimt, and Alphonse Mucha.
Art Deco, movement in the decorative arts and architecture that originated in the 1920s and developed into a major style in western Europe and the United States during the 1930s. Its name was derived from the Exposition Internationale des Arts Décoratifs et Industriels Modernes, held in Paris in 1925, where the style was first exhibited.
5. Demétre Chiparus. Demétre Chiparus is one of the most celebrated artists from the Art Deco era. Chiparus was born in 1886 in Romania, but lived most of his life in Paris, France where the Art Deco movement was a central part of society. He was known for creating some of the most distinct sculptures during the 1920’s and 1930’s.
