Review of Great Blue Hole. Reviewed February 6, 2022. This "bucket list" item is a "ONE AND DONE". To go diving in Belize and not see it, would be dumb. We went from Ambergris Caye, it was a 2 and 1/2 hour boat ride and was VERY rough. 5 days later, I am still sore from the 5 hour rt boat ride. 25 minute dive, 5 minutes bottom time at 122 feet.
It takes a full-day trip to experience a dive to the Great Blue Hole, and aside from taking one dive in the Blue Hole, usually two more dives take place in other reefs nearby. On-shore caves of comparable formation, as vast collapsed sinkholes, are common for the area of Belize and across the wider area of the YucatƔn Peninsula.
